The bright lights, baby!
Whisk yourself away to one of Europe’s famous cities.
Europe’s the best. You couldn‘t ask for a more varied mix of cultures side-by-side. And that’s just the countries! Within each of these nations, there are amazing cities. Some old, some new – some a bit of both!
So whether you want ancient history or a city that’s setting tomorrow’s trends, you’ll find your perfect fit… and finding it’s the fun bit! You can explore a few a year. Just pack light and explore Europe at the weekend.
To get your city tick-list going, here are a few ideas to get you started:
Munich the Oktoberfest alone draws in over six million holiday-makers a year to the city on the river Isar. But Munich has far more to offer for a holiday stay than the world-famous funfair. Anyone spending his vacation in Munich can look forward to the highly acclaimed "Gemütlichkeit", untranslatable but roughly meaning that the Munich people are easy-going and relaxed.
As for Cologne, or Köln as the Germans call it is a great city. Lively, with many pubs, restaurants, and nightlife, but also old, with lots of history, monuments, and sights. Carnival celebrations in Cologne are famous, and that's a great time to visit the city.
Prague the Czech capital has so much to offer. It's renowned for its world-class beer and vibrant club scene but that's not all! The stunning setting and architecture house a vibrant arts scene, with many excellent galleries and museums. If you stay longer than a weekend, then try exploring the outlying neighbourhood districts that have helped inspire a whole new generation of travellers.

Barcelona can offer you everything. This piece of Spain has culture, cuisine and cerveza to rival anywhere, all in the most beautiful, sunny setting. Woody Allen in his film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, described the city as “not merely a setting, but a character in its own right.” So how about getting to know it a bit?
